What our customer's say!
"Nothing special here...", This is a cute looking toy, but my 3 1/2 yo son has almost no interest in playing with it. When he does, he only plays with it as a stuffed animal and doesn't seem interested in all the buckles, laces, buttons etc...
"A great learning tool!", My daughter loves monkey dolls so this was a no-brainer. The doll itself is big, bright, and well made. The only real downside to this learning doll is that some of the clothing is difficult for little hands to get back on, in particular the shoes and socks. My daughter loves taking them off but at 20 months she can't quite yet get them back on. Also I wish the specific areas of focus were labeled on the clothing, like "BUTTON" or "SNAP" or "ZIPPER" etc... Overall this has turned out to be a good purchase that should last for a long time. My daughter loves her ALEX monkey and she's learning, and well, that's exactly what I bought this doll for.
"Beware of shoes!", We bought this toy for our son as a Christmas gift in 2009. He was 20 months old then. Now at the age of 2 he plays with the monkey. The problem that I have with this toy is that the socks and shoes are tough for an adult to put on, let alone a child. The shoelaces are held on by a string and if this was removed the shoe could open up more to insert the foot of the monkey. However, I don't think this would help.
"Nephews Birthday", My nephew loved this toy! He has learned how to button, zip, snap, dress, put his socks and shoes on. It's almost as tall as him. It's his little buddy!
"Cute Monkey", This monkey is comical and cute - and almost as tall as my year-old grandson! He carries it around the house as if it was his best buddy.

"One of the best dress up toys we have!!!!", Our daughter received this dress up monkey for her second birthday. She has learned how to put socks, pants and shoes on and off from using him. She has also learned how to operate a zipper (his is one of the better ones). I think he is a good value for the money and very durable. He is still going strong after a year of use. We have two others a generic one (brand unsure) and Squeak E Mouse. Squeak E Mouse is also a good version. He comes with a jacket with a hood and a back pack--very cute and durable as well--she just doesn't like playing with the mouse so we use the clothes on the monkey and other dolls.
"Just not interested yet", My son is 2 1/2, I bought this for him thinking it might help him become interested in helping to dress/undress himself. No luck. He doesn't want to play with it. I think it's cute. I see the value in it. I really like it... I do have a couple of "problems" with it. The tail...yes, it is a monkey and therefore has a tail, but I see how difficult it would be to get the tail through the overalls at 18 months (beginning age range) or even 2 years of age. Also, the shoes are a pain to get on and I am considerably older than the suggested age range. ;)
"Great learning toy", My 2 year old loves this monkey. He has fun undressing him when I put the clothes on it (he can't quite get the clothes on the monkey himself yet, but he can sure take them off!). He also loves to wear the 'monkey socks'.
Unlike many of the other 'learn to dress' toys, the individual components of this one are sturdy and well made. The buttons are oversized and are just the right size for little hands. Overall, this is great for teaching children about different types of clothing fastener.
"Monkey is a hit", My 2-year old grandaughter is still learning how to dress and undress her Monkey. She has named it Sammy and takes it with her everywhere.
"Great Educational Toy", My 3 year old Granddaughter loves her Dress Monkey and enjoys playing with it and carries it with her every where. I am pleased with the product. However, I would have cancelled the order long before she received except it except I was determined to be able to leave this feedback on my experience with the seller: Amazon. In seven years of doing hundreds of dollars of business a year with Amazon I have only really been upset twice with their service policies. The first time I cancelled over three hundred dollars in books and stopped ordering from them for six months. When I returned to test them again I found that they had changed their shipping/delivery policy as I had suggested to a Customer Service manager ...on my way out the door six months before.
My second issue with Amazon Policy is this current experience of the posting & maintaining a "Currently In Stock" label on a product page even when the product is NOT really "In Stock" and available to ship, as implied by the label. I ordered the Learn-to-Dress Monkey for my Granddaughter as her Christmas Present on December 12, 2008 noting the "In Stock Label". She received it two plus months later at the end of February 2009. In four emails to customer service & finally Executive Complaint email address: not one respondant would address the false "Currently In Stock" label issue. The false posting remained on the Dress Monkey product page(s) over the full period Amazon was unable to ship the product.
Will I go away as a customer? No. I really appreciate the many good experiences, prompt service, prices and consumer information I have found at the Amazon site over the last seven plus year I been ordering from them. While while my hours of correspondence with Amazon Customer Service were not met with an open and honest adressing of my issue (i.e. phony "Currently In Stock" postings) I did receive repetitive and accruing "go away" offers of $5.00 credits each, applicable to future purchases. That reached $15.00 before disappearing from my account before I could use them. There was also a complimentary 2nd Day delivery promise on the Dress Monkey order which I have no idea if it was in fact honored when the product was finally shipped. Thus, the "One Star" rating for a really disappointing Amazon Dress Monkey order/customer service experience over this past Christmas holiday season!
