"He'll always be Skyfire to me."
Jetfire/Skyfire from Transformers is a very calm, intelligent scientist who was around during the Golden Age of Cybertron. I enjoyed his G1 character (Skyfire) and was happy to find a toy that does a good job in representing his cartoon form. He is quite sturdy and is still holding stiff joints after a number of transformations. His face is calm and passive and captures his character well. Adults and children alike can enjoy this product since he holds together well and shouldn't break with normal handling. He looks very nice displayed either in spaceship form or as a robot.

"Skyfire lives!"
Watch Video Here: http://www.amazon.com/review/R27L9JR3744T8U Skyfire (Jetfire) is one of the better Transformer toys available today. I got one for my daughter and she loves it. I made this little movie for her to see what he'd look like if he were really transforming.

"Awesome Transformer"
This is a stong and well made item, not a cheap breakable one. My 10 year old son love it and plays with it al the time.

"Great Combination of Skyfire and Jetfire"
The really cool thing about this new Jetfire is whoever designed it obviously payed good attention to both the cartoon incarnation (Skyfire) and the toy incarnation (Jetfire) and managed to merge the two. For example, the head of this Jetfire is strongly reminiscent of Skyfire's from the cartoon, but the helmet more closely resembles Jetfire's head. Both the robot and alt form have parts from Skyfire and Jetfire. Personally, I don't think they could have done a better job updating Jetfire. In fact, I think this is the Jetfire we should have had from the beginning...

"Sickness!"
I always wanted the original old school Jetfire as a kid but never got him and he is very expensive and hard to find now. One day I stopped by Toys R Us and saw this new version and grabbed it right away. I didn't even know there was an updated Jetfire toy until I saw this one. For $20 you can't beat it. Grab it now because they are already out of stock at Hasbro Toy Shop.

What our customer's say!

"One of the best new transformers, but read my review first.", This is one of the best transformers from the new line of toys.
It looks just like the picture, pretty awesome looking if you ask me.
But there are a few things you have to keep in mind:

1. It's not as cool as the original Jetfire toy. Some may disagree but the original toy felt sturdier, heavier, had more metal and less plastic.

2. It's definitively not worth $100 or more. I don't know what the real price should be, but to give you a rough idea, I paid $40 for it back in January 2008. For $100 or more you might as well get Masterpiece Optimus Prime or Masterpiece Starscream which are collector pieces.

So if you find it decently priced, go ahead and buy it, you will love this toy. But make sure the price is right.

"The BEST of Transformers Classics Voyager", Known as Skyfire in the original cartoon series, and updated to Jetfire in later incarnations, this character has been given what is possibly the best redesign to date! The original was clearly based on the Macross Veritech fighter, and whilst this figure is different, there are some clear homages to the Veritech, including the jet legs, the helmet with four cannons, as well as the massive booster pack.

Jetfire has clean lines and a very nice appearance in plane mode, with reasonable handling of robot 'kibble' at the bottom. Granted the hands are visible without the guns attached, but this is minor gripe. With firing missiles, extendable wheels, flipping dorsal cannons, as well as rotating cockpit guns; there's plenty of play value as it is!

The transformation is quite simple (which is all it needs to be) into a neatly poseable robot mode that looks equally great. The removeable helmet is a great touch, revealing a more conventional face behind the masked figure.

Overall, this is a fantastic figure,[...]. Far as I can see, it's a toss-up between Jetfire & Starscream as to which is the best figure in the whole Classics line-up.

"Great retro mold", This toy was a must buy for me because it is Jetfire. The original toy was modelled after a Macross toy. This mold is reminiscent of the original as suggested by the "classic" toy line. My only real complaint is that the arms are very visible in the alt mode. Definitely recommended.

"The most detailed Classics Tranformers figure.", Classics Jetfire is a masterpiece! This toy is the single most details and accessoried figure from this toyline.

The vehicle mode for this figure is superb, it is highly detailed and looks very similar to the cartoon character (also called SkyFire). The vehicle mode has foldout wheels, opening cockpit and the iconic red jetboosters that are this chaactgers distiguishing mark. The characters guns fit neatly into the wings and the characters removeable helmet fits neatly into the fuselage (still on the robots head) with the antennae from the helmet forming seconday guns.

In Robot mode this toy is much more poseable than the original, infact the poseablility of this toy is amazing and it is proably the most poseable figure from the classics line. The figure wears a removeable helmet, which is a nice accessory, he also has 2 arm mounted missile launchers as well as two hand-held guns that can be combined into one larger gun. His jetboosters convert into two shoulder mounted cannons. This character is practically bristling with weapons. When in robot mode the wings fold up (and look a little butterflyish) but stay completely out of the way of the arms which is nice (and not always guaranteed with transformers toys) and the feet, which are formed from the jet engines exhaust cones, provide a stable footing for the figure allowing you to pose it with a good chance it will stay upright.

All in all this toy is almost TOO GOOD to be a Transformers Classics line toy. In a line of toys notable for their quality this one sets a very high bar.

Highly recommended!

"Beautiful!", Jetfire/Skyfire has always been my favorite, so this one's just great to have. Pretty sturdy as far as construction goes, so heavy play isn't a problem, but trying to stand him up on his own with that jetpack attached requires a little skill. I wish he was a bit bigger, as Jetfire was just enormous in the actual show, but you can't have everything. Probably one of my favorite features on this are the eyes: they're clear blue plastic straight through to the back of the head, so when backlit, the eyes glow. Awesome! Pretty simple to transform back and forth between robot and jet, maybe a little TOO easy for some, but all around this is just an awesome toy.

"jetfire/skyfire", this is a very good transformer. i remember the scarcity of the original, and how cool he was... the liscensing troubles explained in another reveiw fit, now- but at the time (when i was 12 or so) it just made him mysterious...

i was thrilled when my GF grabbed this one for me, and as with almost all of this generation of transformers, the engineering and complexity is impressive.

my big let-down, and reason for the loss of a star, is that he doesn't transform into the macross mech-style jet body with arms and legs.

it's hard to describe that mode, but those who know what i'm talking about (half jet on top, robot arms and legs below) will be dissapointed that the mode is not available.

but, it is a nice toy that looks great in both modes and has a lot of articulation. it's just that it would appeal mostly to the old-school collectors, and the lack of that in-between mode will bug those same people.

"This toy is among the best", I recently receiI recently purchased this Transformer toy and was thrilled with it. I've been a fan or transformers the animated series for a number of years. Of course there was no Jetfire that I remember in the series, but there was Skyfire which I guess is the same.

The toy itself turns into one of the best looking transformers character out on the market. Unlike many of the Tanka/Hasbro transformers toys that I own, transformation of Jetfire is a piece of cake. I never felt like I was going to break it while I was transforming it to robot mode. Jetfire comes with a helmet that can be removed if you choose to. There are two weapons on the arms that when you load the blue missiles you can fire them by the simple press of a button. It also comes with a hand weapon, and this weapon can split into two so that you can have one weapon on each hand (I usually just keep it as one big weapon).

If you take a look at the sample picture, there are two shoulder weapons, although they have no spring loaded action themselves, it does add to the detail of the toy. These weapons can also be removed if you wish, and it looks more like an actual jet when they are removed during vehicle mode. Another positive about this toy is that unlike many other transformers toys out there, you have to remove weapons while in vehicle mode, because they don't fit or store away anywhere in the body. So chances of loosing these weapons are high, but when in vehicle mode every weapon that comes with Jetfire can stay on.

The hands don't open and close, instead they are always closed fisted to hold the weapons. However the wrist does move 360 degrees around. The rest of the arm is really flexible, so you can pretty much position it any way you want. Overall this is a really nice looking transformer toy, and for $20 you really should consider purchasing it, especially if you are a kid at heart and a fan of the transformers series.
Jetfire - Transformers Voyager Classic

"Awesome toy for the money", I purchased this for my son's fifth birthday - he opened it up today and has been playing with it for four hours nonstop.. The transformation process is relatively simple and it's pretty durable for a child's toy!

Even when a few peices snap loose, they go right back on with no problems. Very few parts detach - less to lose or misplace.

HIGHLY recommend to anyone looking for durable and non-frustrating transformer toys!

"One of the more exciting transformers of this line", I loved this toy incarnation of Jetfire. It's easy enough to transform and I could even go for a "Gerwalk" mode where he is in plane mode but his arms and legs are sticking out, reminiscent of the Macross Valkyries/Veritechs. I wish, though, that his legs could bend forward for this mode. The detachable helmet is cool, revealing a face that looks a lot like the one in the original cartoon. Playability is high and he looks pretty durable.

On the downside, his articualtions could have been better. I wish the legs rotated above the knee (Like Optimus Prime and Megatron) instead of below the knee for better posability. Sometimes, I'd pose him and he ends up looking knock-kneed. the same with the elbows, I wish his arms roatated above the elbows. but I do appreciate the rotatability of the forearms and hands. The packaging was a chore to open, as I'm not the kind of guy who'd just rip the package apart. Too many wire bindings. The joints are also a little tight, making me afraid I'd break it if I exerted too much pressure.

Overall, one of the better transformers of this line. I wish Hasbro would translate more of the generation 1 characters into this type.

"A True Homage To Skyfire!", Even though he was named Skyfire in the original TF series, this is as close to him that those of us collectors and fans will probably get. I was very impressed with the sturdyness, articulation, even the overall detail, right down to the similar references to the old Robotech toys like the backpack rockets and the gauntlet cannons. My piece of advice, buy one when you can, because they are starting to get rare.
